Extend advisory attention beyond the clients already receiving it
Your practice may deliver strong reporting and advice to selected clients. CORE Insights can help identify where other connected clients may warrant attention and which opportunities should be routed to the right specialist.
The question for your practice
“Which clients outside our existing advisory programme should we speak to, and why?”
Review clients beyond the current advisory programme, then route only checked opportunities. Select suitable connected clients who are not receiving that service, investigate relevant portfolio signals with their relationship manager, and pass a documented need to the right specialist when the evidence and client context justify it.
A way to approach it
The challenge
The advisory team already has a defined service, but the wider client base is not reviewed in the same way. A valuable opportunity might sit with a compliance relationship team until the next annual meeting.
Portfolio triage
Use agreed criteria to review the connected portfolio and narrow attention to clients with a relevant need and readiness for a conversation. An Opportunity Card is a starting signal. It should be checked against the accounts, the client relationship and the specialist service available.
Route the right work
A finding may call for a simple check-in, a Business Overview conversation or a referral to an existing advisory, tax or other specialist service. Define the handoff and record the next action so opportunities do not disappear into a dashboard.
Practical questions, answered
How do we separate an opportunity from an interesting metric?
Check the source figures, timing, materiality and what the relationship manager already knows. A finding becomes a potential client conversation only when there is a plausible question or decision the client may value.
Can we tailor the review to capacity?
Agree suitable clients, criteria and thresholds before reviewing the cards. Revisit them if the shortlist is too broad or too narrow; the practice still decides which findings deserve a human investigation.
How do we avoid overwhelming specialists?
Let the relationship manager verify and qualify a finding first. Send a short handoff with the evidence, client context, suggested question and proposed next step; close or defer weak signals.
