Generating Your First Reports

Reports are the foundation of VFD Pro. They transform raw financial data into clear insights your clients can understand and act upon. By generating your first report, you’ll see how quickly VFD Pro helps you move from “numbers” to “conversations.”

The Four Types of VFD Output

Every report or model you generate falls into one of four key categories:

  1. Performance Reports
Show what’s happening in the business right now — from top-level overviews to detailed breakdowns of customers, suppliers, or campaigns.
  2. Business Modelling
Look forward, not back. Forecasts, scenario planning, and “what-if” analysis that link decisions today to results tomorrow.
  3. Exception Reporting
Automatically flag risks or opportunities that deserve attention, so you can act before your client even spots the issue.
  4. Business Valuation (EVA)
Help clients understand what their business is worth today — and how to grow its value for funding or exit.

To-do checklist (optional):

  • Generate a Business Overview Report for a connected client.
  • Review the report structure and the insights it highlights.
  • Try sharing it with a client or colleague to spark discussion.
  • Think about which of the four categories above will be most valuable for your next client conversation.

Practice-Branded Demonstration Company Reports

Sometimes it’s not appropriate to use a client’s real data, especially for exit planning or financial due diligence.

With practice-branded demonstration reports you can:

  • Use sample company data without giving away chargeable value.
  • Present reports branded with your logo and colours.
  • Confidently demonstrate the power of VFD in sales conversations.
